  1. Open Enrollment opens

    Agents can enroll clients on HealthCare.gov.

  2. Deadline for January 1 coverage

    Last day to pick a plan that starts January 1.

  3. Coverage starts

    For plans picked by Tue, Dec 15.

  4. Open Enrollment closes

    After today, clients need a Special Enrollment Period.

  5. Later coverage starts

    For plans picked Wed, Dec 16 – Fri, Jan 15.

    2027 Open Enrollment runs Nov 1 – Jan 15

    HealthCare.gov states: enroll by Dec 15 for Jan 1 coverage. Enrollments from Dec 16 to Jan 15 start Feb 1. The 2025 rule that would have ended OEP on Dec 15 was blocked in court, and CMS confirmed the normal window in August.
